To have better AJAX usability I modified slightly JQWicket.
In the modified version com.google.code.jqwicket.JQBehavior extends
org.apache.wicket.ajax.AbstractDefaultAjaxBehavior instead of
org.apache.wicket.behavior.Behavior.
The impact on source was minor, the gain was major.
