Trouble getting the data loaded from URL

I am looking to implement jquery.gantt in an xPages project. My problem is getting the source to load from a URL/webservice. Are there any real work examples or a jsfiddle that anyone could provide that shows loading from a URL?

Found an answer in a closed bug report. The json in a webpage is strictly parsed while the json locally will accept and damn garbage...
