How to create a new sticky?

Ok, I'm sure I've missed something simple, but how do I create a new
sticky?? I don't see how clicking the "Add New" button in the top
left corner of the demo actually fires of the JS to create a new
sticky?

All I need is an example of a JS function to call on the button
press. I see the button in the CSS but I don't see anything binding
to the onclick....

Help will be appreciated.
