I've been thinking, together with Glen, inspired by several talks at
the Ajax experience and jQueryCamp, about a wiki about UI design
patterns, or just UI patterns.

I'd like to set up a wiki eg. at http://uipatterns.com (which is
already taken, I'm trying to contact the owner) which is independent
of any implementation (read: JavaScript library) and open for
everyone. It provide a template for documentating a pattern, similar
to http://developer.yahoo.com/ypatterns/ or like in one of the many
pattern books. Each pattern would include links to implementations,
maybe also comments about the state of these implementations
("provides feature x and y, z is in the works"). It should be
unrelated to jQuery on first site to invite everyone on whatever
project to participate.

ypatterns is nice, but its rather unlikely that they open up the
process and let others participate. Initial content could be created
by more or less copying their stuff and adding more links - anyone
knows if their license (Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License)
would actually allow that?

Comments and ideas for alternate domains are welcome!

An interesting site is: http://designinginterfaces.com/
Not open, no web stuff, only desktop. Good for gathering.
