The tooltip is only visible when the mouse is close to the data point.  I would like it to be visible no matter where the mouse cursor is on the graph.  Highcharts does this automatically.  Example here: http://www.highcharts.com/demo/

Would someone mind pointing me to the current logic that decides when and what data point to show given the current position of the mouse cursor?

Thanks!

Hi,
The fading of the tooltip is handled in the handleMove function of the highligher plugin. Of course you can make changes there, but there is also a simpler and quicker fix. Not so beautiful solution though, but try setting those highligher properties:

fadeTooltip: true
tooltipFadeSpeed: 9999999

The latter will of course fade out the tooltip in three hours or so, but a user will probably not notice that.

This seems to just leave the tooltip visible when I mouse out of the chart.
