Hello guys,

Even if this is not a jpos related question i hope that some of
the readers may have come across a similar challenge. We developed an
authorization server with the help of jpos and now we need to build
Base 2 files from ISO8583 messages (we work with Postilion 6) and
ISO8583 messages from Base 2 files. Is there a document that clearly
maps the fields or that describes an algorithm to follow? Any help is
very appreciated!

Thank you,
Alexandru Irimiea.

Base II is a clearing and settlement file format from Visa -- It is a fixed
length format, and is described in Visa's documentation -- VisaNet Base
Message Specifications -- it is a few books wide. Note that this
documentation will define the format, fields, and values, Visa also has an
"Edit package" to run the files though to make sure that they are formatted
and contain proper values according to the spec.-- it won't necessarily map
them from an authorization files or data elements. You get the
documentation from your Visa rep or from visaonline.com

We used to call Visa Clearing files CTF (Center Transaction Files),
Mastercard used to have INET but replaced their clearing file format with an
ISO-8583 format called IPM.

Good Luck.
