If you are trying to read icc data from a card,  you are in the wrong mailing list. You should try javapos group.

Searching for javapos and icc data should get you the information you are looking for.

For ICC data elements you can look at https://www.emvco.com/specifications.aspx?id=223

Download book 3 see appendix A for the tags and the lengths of those fields that can be available in ICC data.

How you package the data in your 8583 message is between you and the entity receiving it. Its usually packaged as TLV (tag length value). You can determine how the TLV is formatted using an appropriate field packager.

So here you will be looking to use TLV (probably).  Which scheme are you looking to acquire into?

There is no 'basic'  in this - the field is a complex one with very many things to know and discover.

Yes and no.

There is a "Track-2 equivalent" which is one single part of the ICC data you (or the terminal) will gather from the card to send in the online transaction.

What role do you or your system play in this online exchange, are you a merchant, an acquirer, a switch - or something else?
