Hello,

I am newbie on jPOS. In fact, I am developing an application who can send payment information(payment amount, ex.) to the payment terminal.
I want to know if jPOS is the right project I am looking for ?

Thanks a lot.
Regards,
Xun REN!

If your terminal supports the ISO8583 message structure or a delimiter based message you can use jpos.
For connectivity jpos has something called a channel for talking to the device. You can see if the ones that are provided can be used out of the box or write one yourself (it's relatively simple) .
By simple configuration files you can write clients and servers and do message request response matching.

There is another unrelated project called javapos, use that for controlling your devices like card readers,  registers etc. For that you need to find the relevant javapos user group.

Hello Chhil,

Thanks a lot for your reply.
What confused me is the difference between jPos(http://jpos.org) and JavaPos(http://www.javapos.com).
It seems that JavaPos uses JCL and its implementation to communicate with the Point-of-Sale device.

What I really need is just to talk between my software application and the bank card payment terminal(Ingenico ICT250). I don't know if it is the right situation to use the channel you talked about ?
It's like in the supermarket, after the scanning of barcode of all the goods, the cashier click on a button on the screen(my software application I talked about) to allow the clients to begin the payment on the PoS terminal.

Cordialement,
Xun REN.
