Hi all,

Could you please tell me that, can we do the debit credit transaction
and balance inquiry using JPOS? If possible I want to know what are
the main ISO fields related to it and some examples.

Many Thanks,

Yes of course.

You mean build to send or receive and parse message the represent these
flavours?

This will depend entirely on the how the interface you are connecting
with chooses to indicate such flavours of transaction.

Check the documentation you have for your acquiring or Issuer interface
in the first instance. I would look at fields MTI(0?), 2, 3, 4, 22 but
there is hopefully an introduction to the message flows and flavours for
you to familiarise yourself with.

Thanks mark ,

Actually I’m going to communicate with Base24 BIC interface . So I’m
writing a client program to communicate with that interface and my
requirement is to do credit transaction , debit transaction and do a
balance inquiry for a given account number. So basically I want to
know how I can approach to this using JPOS because I’m very new to
JPOS .

Many Thanks,

You need to step back here: you're not asking a jPOS question. You're a
couple of levels removed from that.

First, look at the ISO 8583 spec to gain an appreciation for how those
concepts are implemented in that framework. Next, study the BASE/24 spec to
see how those concepts are specifically implemented by ACI.

Then, read this piece on how to on-board an ISO8583 interface into a
jPOS-based application:

Hello Suranga,
One thing I know for sure is that balance inquiry has 0 values in Field 4 that represents Transaction Amount.
Field 3 (Processing Code) might be useful also, but in my case that was rather empiric investigation, due to lack of information from processor.
You should check BASE24 BIC ISO Standards Manual by ACI Worldwide Inc, if you manage to find it, that is one really good manual with description and usage for every field.

Good luck!

Please note that while this is likely true for this BASE24 interface
(and a number of others) there is no standard that defines it.

Ultimately the uses and meanings of the fields in messages accept
through an interface are defined by the owners/developers of the system
that provides the interface.
