JPOS Client is waiting for the response forever

In the error scenario from the server side, It required to not send any response to the client. So the client is waiting forever for the response and setting of the channel timeout has no impact.

The question is how, the client can be configured or implemented to not wait forever and apply some login when nor response provided in a certain time?

If you use a MUX, and you call the 'request' method, there's a second parameter called 'timeout' exactly for your use case.

Take a look at the Gateway Tutorial (http://jpos.org/tutorials) that uses a MUX.
