Hello JPOS Family.

I have a message that im trying to decode, however when i convert the message to ascii i get the following "0100þÿd (¡ð
@162265006". Im failing to make sense of the messages and special characters. Kindly assist with the tool/methos/way decode this type of messages.

Looks potentially alright, what is the original/initial form though?

Why are you converting to ascii - I am trying to understand your intent?

What specification/scheme is the message meant to be - have you already
worked out as jpos package you might use?

Finally, what are you trying to be or do?

Thank you for the quick response Mark. Im new to jpos and also new to ISO 8583. So i have received a message in HEX format. so i want reverse engineer the message so that i can know which fields are included and also what are values of the fields. Well the reason why i converted it to ascii i thought the message would be readeable however it currently not. What im trying to do is to decode the message and get the values that are within the message. I would appreciate if you can point me to the right direction to deal with such messages

Ask the provider of the message for the specification and start there.

Their specification will define the structure of the message and the
format of all the fields.
