Is there a Channel where I can telnet to, and simply paste the ISO message in string format (and without the fuss of putting in the message length)?  Or is there something similar that I can tweak, instead of sending ISO messages using a client.

For example, I'd like to yield the same result pasting the following in telnet, just as I would using a client:

ISO0260000000100F238C48128A18018000000001000019C164320007010001103000000000000100000000000000000000100000000000000000000000110000000000037ppppppppppppppppppp=ccceeeesssdddddddA00000000000A 00000000000000A 00000000000000000000A 00000000000A 0A0030027A 00000000000000000A 00A 00840019016A 00A 00A 00A 00022019A 00A 00AA0A 0000001100000000000032029A 00000000000000000000000A 00023020A 0000A 00A 000000P 012009A 0A 0A 0015012A0A 00A 00AA0410381A0A 0000000000A 000000000000000000A01

Cheers!

I use netcat for these kind of tests. Run netcat in client or server mode and paste the message in the shell or maybe pipe the contents from a file.

You can use the xmlpackager  for easy usage.

If you are looking at automation use the client simulator module.

Hi chhil,

Thanks, but I already started out using XmlPackager and the client-simulator.  Now, I have a large file containing ISO messages in string format per line and it would really be tedious to convert each to xml.

I'll read on netcat, I find it really useful.

Cheers!

PADChannel is the closest one you have if you don't want to send a message length. Please note that PADChannel accepts the header in hex format, so in your case, instead of ISO0260000000100 you need to send 49534F30323630303030303030313030

Thanks, Alejandro! I'll try that.

Strange, I got unpacking ISOExceptions all over and it's pretty hard to debug.  But trying the ASCIIChannel works, though with message length.  So I'll do another approach, batching the prepending of message lengths to the message strings instead.

I'll get back to debugging the PADChannel later on.

Thanks still!

Cheers,

Provide the Channel and/or Packager with a Logger, make it easy.

Did you give your Channel a header?
