Dear students,
I am a bit under the weather (far, far under the weather), and do not think that I will be well enough tomorrow to come to school.
JPNS 3020 students: For part of your Lesson 11 test grade, please write two unique sentences, preferably ones about yourself, that use each of the Lesson 11 grammar points (in the same manner as we did with the midterm). Please write them or print them out to hand in with your test, which we will delay until Wednesday.
JPNS 1002 students: We have read two Japanese fairy tales. Please write (in Japanese) a ONE PARAGRAPH summary of a fairy tale. If you are not a US native, feel free to write your summary about a fairy tale from your country. Please write them or print them out to hand in on Tuesday.
Both classes: Feel free to use online dictionaries, etc., to look up individual words (I especially recommend
www.alc.co.jp, since you can see the words in context), but note that using Google translate, etc., is almost guaranteed to give you really, really bad translations that will ensure a low grade. I will decide how much this grade counts later, when my brain is actually working, but at a minimum it will be worth two quiz grades.
Thanks,
--Tony
