Is there a way to prevent a website visitor from downloading the mp3/
ogg source file? It seems like the full path to the audio file will
always be user-visible, and that the permissions must be set to allow
downloading it (for HTML 5 support anyway). Can I obscure the source
by forcing Flash to be used always and not <audio>? How would I do
this?

I really like that jPlayer has no visible Flash. If hiding the source
is not possible at all with jPlayer, can anyone recommend another way
of playing audio with HTML/CSS controls and no visible Flash?

thanks!!!

Hi,

I'm also trying to obfuscate or hide the name of the mp3 file. But, I
don't understand what is the pointer to do that in the stackoverflow
question/answer you refer to.

Thank you for your help.

I think it's that since PHP runs on the server side only, it can
somehow pass the audio file to the <audio> tag without revealing
anything to the browser. I haven't tried it (and the site seems to be
down), but it seems like a pretty important feature for HTML5 native
media playback to have.

Mark B, thanks for the link.
