See below the query I sent to the GreenCommuter folks, and their reply. Executive summary: the Tesla costs about 50% more per person than our gasoline Ford van.

Thank you for your interest in Green Commuter's vanpool program.  Your message indicated:

Interested in specifics on van pooling options - am currently in a vanpool that goes from Palmdale to JPL via Angeles Forest & Angeles Crest highway, approx. 50 miles each way. Our monthly cost is $110 per person, with $50/month subsidy from Caltech/AQMD, using a 14-passenger van. Could your vehicle do that commute, and what would be the comparable cost per person?

Green Commuter current fleet consists of the Tesla Model X - an all-electric SUV with seating for seven passengers. We currently do not have a 14 passenger vehicle that could meet your vanpool needs.

For your interest, the lease cost for the 100 round trip mileage is $1,060 per month or $151.00 without the subsidy.  I am unclear if the $110 price noted in your email includes the $50 subsidy.

[It does not. The bottom-line cost of our vanpool (fuel, lease, admin. costs) is $60/month with the $50/month subsidy included. And at that, occasionally we get a free month when the vanpool account funds have a surplus.]
