Version 4.4.2, PHP 7.2.34, Centos Jpgraph has Font file "/usr/share/fonts/truetype/arial.ttf" exception

After changing from jpgraph 4.2, I get this error
Font file "/usr/share/fonts/truetype/arial.ttf" is not readable or does not exist
This does not happen on Windows 11 development machine
Does anyone have any idea why this error occurs?
I tried the obvious first aid of putting in a copy of arial.ttf into /usr/share/fonts/truetype/arial.ttf
