The next session of the UUA Interim Training for Program Professionals will begin in February! This is a 6-week, online program. The cost remains $125 (plus the cost of 2 books), and applications are due by January 26. Learn more about interim leadership here: http://www.uua.org/careers/re/107495.shtml. Our facilitators are experienced interim religious educators Michele Grove and Lily Rappaport.
While this training is designed specifically for people who are serving - or preparing to serve - as interim professionals, others have found it useful, including those who are working with an interim minister, those who are starting new positions, and those who are interested in seeing their own work and context with fresh eyes.
This training will:
* Ground you in the developmental tasks of the interim process,
* Equip you in the essential areas of staff relations and congregational systems, and
* Provide you with practical tools and resources for interim work.
It consists of:
* Two online classes (webinars) where participants can meet and engage in the material.
* Weekly reading, exploration, and online discussions.
* A small group project which enables participants to translate new-found knowledge into practical terms.
The webinars take place at the beginning of Week 1 and Week 6. We plan to run these webinars at 7pm Eastern on either SUNDAYS, February 8 and March 15, OR Mondays, February 9 and March 16. (Note that these times are offset by a week from what I posted before the holidays. Adjusted to avoid Selma weekend.) We will see what works best for the participants. You'll need to be available for the webinars - and to have general access to a computer and internet during the course. Including all of the reading, weekly work, project and webinars, you can expect to put in 18-30 hours over the course of the 6 weeks. (You'll be at the lower end of this range if you do most of the book-reading ahead of time.) Please note that the dialogue tends to be rich, meaningful, and fascinating: it is easy to give more time to the process if you have it!
You'll find the application, including more information, attached. Priority will be given to those who are in (or starting) interim positions. For questions, please contact me, jgar...@uua.org<mailto:jgar...@uua.org>. (Write me a private message: do not reply to this listserv message.)
Joyfully,
Jan
