Hola Friends!

A quick update on some stuff I'm up to this month and next:

My new play No Time For Champions gets its first public reading on Saturday, June 24 7pm at the Phil Bosakowski Theatre in New York City.  The play is about fraternal twins searching for their mother, their dreams, and each other.  I'm excited to be working with a great director and cast and hope you can join us for this FREE reading.  The play is part of Ma-Yi Theater Company's LabFest, which features readings of nine new full-length works from my fellow Lab members.  More info at my website and at Ma-Yi.  The theatre has just 49 seats, so reservations are a good idea: lab...@gmail.com or 212-971-4862.

My short film Dry Clean Only has its New York premiere at the 29th Asian American International Film Festival next month.  Screenings will be at the Quad Cinema in the Village on July 16 and 19.  The festival site should be going live soon.

826 Small Moments in the Big City, a short film "adaptation" of my photoblog, won an award at the online Curious City Short Short Film Festival.  This short consists entirely of still images shot with my trusty Treo 600 cameraphone.  You can watch my film and the other winners on the Curious City site.

Thanks, as always, for your support.  Happy summer and remember to wear sunblock.

J.

Ni Hao Friends,

A quick autumn update from rainy Taipei...

VOTE FOR ME
Please check out my entry to the DC APA Film Festival Trailer Contest and help me win $1,000 towards my next film.  You can view the three finalists and vote online.  I'm really proud of our submission, but the competition is intense and we'll need every vote we can get.  So please view and vote NOW at http://www.apafilm.org/contest.php -- and tell your friends, too.  The DC APA Fest is well worth a visit if you're in DC next month.
