Hi Friends,
A few quick updates over morning coffee:
I DON'T SLEEP I DREAM SCREENS (AND SCREAMS) IN EUGENE
IDSID screens this Saturday, April 18 at the DisOrient Film Festival
in Eugene, Oregon <
http://bit.ly/15siy>. I'll be there for the
screening as well as my new workshop below. Please tell your friends
in the area.
MAKE MOVIES, DON'T QUIT YOUR DAY JOB
As many of you know, I'm not a full-time filmmaker or playwright.
Like 99% of you reading this, I have a day job. I couldn't afford the
money or time to attend film school, so everything I've learned about
filmmaking has been from making shorts, showing them at festivals, and
meeting other filmmakers -- all while keeping a 9 to 5 job. I created
this workshop to share my experiences and hopefully empower others to
pursue their film dreams -- without maxing out the credit cards,
taking on giant student loans, or moving back in with the parents.
I'll be debuting this workshop at DisOrient on Friday, April 17 and
taking it to other cities over the coming year. (Get in touch if
you'd like to host a workshop too.) Check out the DisOrient Program
for all the details:

THE IDSID TRAILER IS HERE
Frankly, I've never really understood why folks make trailers for
their short films. It's kind of equivalent to making Talking Points
of an Executive Summary to an edition of Cliff's Notes. But, alas, I
recently had the need to make one and...it was totally fun. So enjoy
this one-minute trailer for IDSID on YouTube:

Lastly, big thanks to everyone that came to our recent screenings in
Philadelphia, Sarasota, Memphis, and Ashland!
Until next time,
JP
