Hi,
Why is the RetentionPolicy for the patterns set to RUNTIME? I am not
quite sure if these annotations should really be available at runtime
at the jvm. SOURCE might be not sufficient if some tools like findbugs
need to process these annotations. But RetentionPolicy.CLASS seems to
me the best fit. This would remove the dependency to jpatterns.jar at
runtime.
Or did i miss an important point?

I thought it might be nice to have the annotations available for reflection tools. Might not be necessary, we might change that in future. You make a valid point.
