Hey guys,

Just as a bit of encouragement, I have forwarded you a series of emails from a man I got a chance to speak to during our photo exhibit two weeks ago and have been chatting with here and there to offer him support.  His name is Yeon.  Maybe some of you know him.  He has a wife and .. I think.. 2 kids.  Praise the Lord, he was very touched by our presentation and his heart for the kids at the orphanages was greatly enlarged by our sharing.  He wants to take a trip out there, but with a family, that's a bit more difficult.

He is currently a donor with the Christian Children's Fund and he is trying to get them involved.  He went to a conference they happened to have in New York last Wednesday and he's been in communication with with Betty Forbes.   She is their VP of Marketing and Sponsor Services.  They are going to see what sort of support they can offer these orphanages, but the first step is to get the Thailand office of CCF connected with them.

So, in order to save CCF some leg work, does anyone have the contact info for the heads of the four orphanages that we visited?  If you do, I can just hand that over to Yeon to correspond with CCF.

=)

Daniel

Dear Daniel ,

As I have told you, I have been trying to get some cooperation from Christian Children's Fund.  The person in charge over at Thailand , Kanchada may need contact information for the heads of the 4 Orphanages in Thailand .  I think if we can cut down the legwork for them, the review process may be sped up.  Do you have access to the contact information for the heads of 4 Orphanages?  Let's see what happens.  Betty is very influential and powerful woman and she is also the VP of CCF.

Thank you,

Yeon S. Hong

Dear Yeon

Thank you very much for your concern about needy children in Thailand. Please give me sometime to contact our local people to get in touch with these 4 orphanages. Once we get information (e.g. their contacts - technically and financially - with government, local, and international agencies), we should be able to reply you with more confidence.

Best wishes

Kanchada

Dear Betty,

It was an honor meeting you last night at the CCF reception.  I know you are busy, so I will make it short.  My heart has been moved and felt so much compassion for the children in Thailand orphanages introduced to me from our churches recent mission.  14 missionaries from our church visited 4 orphanages that need much financial, administrative, and expertise in making positive changes to the lives of children, widows and parents in Thailand .  Many of these kids have been tested HIV+ and many were saved from being sold or stolen as sex slaves.  These orphanages are run by few individuals with more faith than experiences.  I am h oping to see if CCF can help in anyway to help these Orphanages, I will be forever greatful.

These four orphanages are Akha Training Center (http://www.childrengoldentriangle.org), Home of the Open Heart (http://www.ywamthai.org/chiangrai/openheart.htm), Khaodee Orphanage – Chiang Rai (http://www.elijahfoundation.org/orphanage.php?cat_id=3 ), and House of Union (http://www.houseofunion.org).

Could you please let me know if CCF can get involved anyway at all?  You can reach me at my mobile number at 917-770-4075 .

Thank you,

Yeon S. Hong

Dear Mr. Hong,

Our National Offices that administer our programs make the decisions on affiliating with organizations or agencies that are assisting needy children in specific communities. Since we have a National Office in Thailand, we suggest that you send your proposal and information to them. Their e-mail address is as follows: ccfth...@ccfthai.or.th. If you would like the mailing address, please let us know.

Dear CCF,

I am a CCF donor and a Christian. I have been so touched by our church's
new mission work in
Thailand this past Sunday. 14 volunteers have visited 4
orphanages that need much financial support. Our church just learned about
them and started supporting them. Kids are being sold off for sexual
slavery and many kids have been infected with AIDS.

These four orphanages are Akha Training Center
(http://www.childrengoldentriangle.org
<http://www.childrengoldentriangle.org/> ), Home of the Open Heart
(http://www.ywamthai.org/chiangrai/openheart.htm), Khaodee Orphanage -
Chiang Rai (http://www.elijahfoundation.org/orphanage.php?cat_id=3 ), and
House of Union (http://www.houseofunion.org <http://www.houseofunion.org/>
). Is there any way CCF can assist these four organizations to save the
broken children from suffering and death? Any assistance will be
appreciated. Could you please let me know? You can reach me at my mobile
number at 917-770-4075.
Thank you,
Yeon S. Hong
