Hello

I am writing to you to let you know about an important event coming up at our church, Ask for the Nations Conference November 17-18.

The purpose of the conference is to commission second generation Korean Americans to become missionaries. OM (Operation Mobilization)'s President George Verwer will be speaking and we will have a number of interesting workshops on mission opportunities in various continents.  We will be co-partnering with Bethany of Wayne NJ and sharing in all of the major responsibilities in leading this conference. So far we have a great core of about 8 volunteers willing and ready to help but we need your help!

I am writing to you because each of you have been actively involved this past year either in leading a short term missions trip or being a member of one.

We need your prayers and to get the word out to other members at Joy. Also, if you led a short term trip, would you please forward this email to your short term trip members.

I know that for many of us, missions used to be a very loaded word but after our respective trips, many myths were dispelled regarding missions and what a "missionary" is. I'm not sure how each of you feel about missions but for me, after the trip to Qatar and Thailand, I realized that missions is not this insurmountable obstacles only reserved for superChristians, but an exciting and wonderful way to see God's name be worshipped by people of all tribes and nations..It's truly a joyful act of worship. I realized that He is a Great King worthy of worship.

We want this excitement to grow from you to the church to the rest of the world. We need you. You are the front lines for this conference.

I am humbly asking for your prayer support. Much like Joyful Noise, we will be having Prayer time from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesdays at marveling place to pray about specific topics relating to the conference up until the time of the conference. If you can attend, that would be a great blessing. Also, Julie Shin will be setting up a  prayer and fasting chain list on the jcfnj website so that you can sign up and pray for a specific topic by next week. Would you please sign up? Finally, if you can volunteer your time during the conference (either as an usher, Driver for the speakers, or prayer volunteer) we will be having a volunteers meeting this coming Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. (meeting in one of the classrooms and then breaking at 9 p.m. for the marveling place session I mentioned earlier)

Thanks so much for your time.If you have any questions, please ask Julie Shin, Jimmy Shyr, Eddie Lee, Ellen Yang, Shirley Kim, Elaine Ra, Tam Phan, Alex Ma or myself.
LK
