Hello, I've found one of my dad's old joysticks, the Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital. I bought a DB-15 plug for soldering and soldered wires from an old USB cable onto it according to the pin assignments on joystickrehab. I plug the device into one of my computers' USB jacks (running Windows 10 x64) and no device is found. I tried the same with other USB ports, and also on a Windows XP laptop, without result. Am I doing something wrong?

I've got the red on 1, green on 10, white on 14, black on 4 and a jumper wire from pin 2 to 7. I have not tested anything with a multimeter, though I could probably borrow one from my neighbor, if this should work.

Hello,

Are you sure that Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital has built-in support for USB? I have the same joystick as you and I was also thinking about using it in a newer computer. However, usually simple USB-DB15 cable adapter is referred to Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital 3D which is a newer version and it was supplied with USB adapter. I'm not sure if this adapter will also work for the older model (without 3D).

I have no idea if it has support for USB adapters, I just tried making my own adapter according to the schematic. I asked my dad and he said he didn't think the joystick came with an USB adapter, so maybe it's not possible to convert it using a simple USB adapter, or I just did something wrong.

On my joystick box it says that only DOS and Windows 95 are supported. According to the movie listed here it will be one of early digital joysticks. Later digital joysticks with USB adapter are supposed to not working under DOS, but at least for them it is possible to use that adapter which you have build. Still, I haven't tried it myself, so I can't confirm it for sure.

I actually checked the Logitech "ad" that came with the box... it says on the back side of it that it only supports Gameport. I want to try to get my hands on a multimeter though to check if I can't get an idea of how I could solve it some other way...
