Hi

Any chance of being able to get the CH Products: CH Force FX - force feedback joystick working in windows 7 x64, with either one of those adaptors you reviewed or with some project.

The CH Force FX stick has a 15pin and a 9pin serial cable. Not sure what the 9pin serial is for.

I don't know if this stick is analogue or digital.

Any help and advice would be most welcome.

Kind regards
Jonny

What you have is definetly a digital joystick.  The USB to DA15 approach is meant for Analog joysticks.  If you want to put either of those joysticks into action you either need to see if they came with USB adapters of their own (sometimes they did) or you might have to consider the disassemble and rewire approach.  I'm sorry I don't have good news.

Thanks for the reply. Yes then it appears to be beyond my skills to ge it working. Someone with a better level of electronic would maybe be able to rewire the USB interface from another USB stick. And to then try and also get force feedback data flowing. Well beyond my skills.

Its still brand new, and a massive stick base. Must of been a real beauty to see it in action. Maybe someone into advanced modding would be interested in buying it.

I found you an interesting link: it seems someone has already made a USB version of your joystick.  Instructions on how to modify your controls are included at this website.  I hope this helps!

Thanks,

I've already seen this website project. Its a bit beyond my skills to do. Plus it requires another CH products combat or figherstick, which will cost the same 2nd hand as new in the UK. So £80-125 for that. The other stick required is a logitech wingman, not very expensive to find.

The guy also seems to have disappeared from forums recently, I have already emailed him but nothing so far.

Its an interesting project, and I'm considering giving it a try.
