I've been using a Rockfire adapter to connect home-built rudder pedals with a 100-kOhm pot to a USB port. While this works, it's less than ideal because the adapter's resolution seems to be low. In the Windows 7 calibration procedure, the raw data shows values ranging from about 4 to 122 in steps of 3, which means there are only about 40 possible values. This makes it almost impossible to maintain a heading accurately.

So my question is, is there any way to get better resolution with the Rockfire? Or would the Mayflash adapter give higher resolution?

Thanks!

Probably not. You won't see much difference.
