Our Fylde Coast Integrated Urgent Care Service (FCIUCS) is an important part of the local urgent and emergency care system. Led by Carron Fothergill, Head of Fylde Coast Urgent Care, we operate the following:
We are the frontline reception team at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. Our experienced and extensively trained staff play a really important role in supporting patients to use the digital triage system. This ensures they arrive at the most appropriate location whether the Emergency Department, the neighbouring Urgent Treatment Centre also provided by FCMS, pharmacy or self-care. Our urgent care services are available to the Fylde Coast population and to temporary residents and visitors 24/7 and 365 days a year.
Open 24/7, 365 days a year, our hard-working teams support patients presenting with minor injuries and illnesses. The team work very closely with the local NHS 111 service to ensure patients can be booked into our service with ease.
This is a GP Led service with a multidisciplinary team of staff. They are supported by our wonderful non-clinical team and are managed by Deputy Head of Fylde Coast Integrated Urgent Care, Michelle Sproston.
Our highly skilled team provides additional clinical validation for patients who are referred via NHS111, 999 or by another healthcare professional. The CAS team ensures that patients receive the most appropriate onward care and can refer into a wide range of services.
Care Coordination is a single point of access admission avoidance service to enable patients with complex healthcare needs be cared for in the surroundings they wish to be cared and prevent unplanned hospital attendances.
Our Urgent Treatment Centre is co-located at Doncaster Royal Infirmary and operates 24/7 365 days a year using a highly skilled multidisciplinary team. Appointments are made via NHS111 or as directed by the Emergency Department.
Based on South Parade in Doncaster, we offer a Same Day Health Centre service. Patients receive a comprehensive consultation from a suitably qualified clinician within 24 hours of the appointment being requested.
The service is mainly community based and integrates and supports existing community services, helping to bridge the gap between primary and secondary care, bringing patient care closer to home and in doing so, supporting the reduction of hospital admissions.
We are proud to have been delivering services in Morecambe Bay since 2012 and will always do what we can to support our partners in developing new services and new ways of providing exceptional care to our local communities

Morecambe is a Lancashire town by the Irish Sea. It was once one of the most significant seaside resorts in Britain, but these days it's in the process of reinventing itself. It's still proud of its heritage, as evidenced by the large statue of the town's most famous son, Eric Morecambe, on the seafront. Nearby is the Midland Hotel, an Art Deco building constructed in the 1930s, while the wide beach is popular with kite flyers. Morecambe Bay is home to a wide variety of birdlife, thanks to its extensive mudflats. The cinema and bowling centre are close by, but if you're in the mood for a little drive, then it's easy to find peace and solitude a few miles up the coast, or to drive the short distance inland to the shops and markets of Lancaster. Morecambe is also gaining a reputation as a local food centre, with new cafes opening all the time. Morecambe's branch of Enterprise Rent-A-Car is on the White Lund Industrial Estate, just off the A683, a couple of miles southeast of the town centre.
