To NENA members and other interested folks,

It's time to get outside and party!  Leave your shovels and work boots at home and join with your neighbors to celebrate the grand opening of the Joy Avenue Pathway and Edible Forest Garden on Saturday, June 8 at 11 am.   This beautiful new pathway, garden, and pocket park -  more than two years in the making - has me doing (imaginary) cartwheels of joy every time I visit.   It shows what's possible when neighbors join together around a shared vision and roll up their sleeves to make their neighborhoods and communities better places to live.

This not-to-be-missed event will feature:

* Joyous music from our neighborhood’s own Celtic band Fiddlehead.

* Fascinating tours of the edible forest garden.  Learn about the more than 200 edible plants and trees that line the pathway and why dandelions are so awesome.

* The unveiling of the beautiful new Joy Avenue Pathway interpretive sign and lots more...

The pathway is located in the 1600 block of Bethel Street about 1.5 blocks north of the SF Bakery.  More information can be found on NENA's website.  Just click on the Joy Avenue Pathway tab.

This is an all-joy, no-sweat, shovel-free event!

Best regards,
