To NENA members and other interested folks,

Join us for a garden party this Saturday, June 8 at 11 am to celebrate the grand opening of the Joy Avenue Pathway and Edible Forest Garden.  The garden boasts 58 different species and varieties of edible plants, trees and herbs.  We've just finished compiling a detailed list of them and posted the list on NENA's Web site.  Early Saturday morning, we'll be labeling all the plants, so I encourage you to check out the list and come prepared to find the plants that interest you most.

This not-to-be-missed event will feature:

* Joyous music from our neighborhood’s own Celtic band Fiddlehead.

* Fascinating tours of the edible forest garden.  Learn about the more than 200 edible plants and trees that line the pathway and why dandelions are so awesome.

* The unveiling of the beautiful new Joy Avenue Pathway interpretive sign
* Delicious dandelion delicacies and lots more...

The pathway is located in the 1600 block of Bethel Street about 1.5 blocks north of the SF Bakery.  More information can be found on NENA's website.  Just click on the Joy Avenue Pathway tab.

Remember to leave your work boots and gloves at home. This is an all-joy, no-sweat, shovel-free event!

Best regards,

Peter Guttchen
