Neighbors and friends,

A friendly reminder that our Chipapalooza Joy Avenue Garden Party is this Saturday from 9 am to noon.  Details are in the announcement below and on our Facebook page. For those that can't make it on Saturday or who want a bit more Joy in their lives, we're having a prequel party tomorrow at 3 pm to prepare for Saturday.   We'll be partying showers or shine - so don't let a few raindrops keep you at home. 

A big shout out and a raucous round of bravos for everyone who donated cardboard - simply awesome and deeply appreciated!  

I look forward to seeing you on Friday or Saturday (or both days) for some serious fun in service in our amazing neighborhood.

Joy Avenue Pathway and Edible Forest Garden Work Party 

Saturday, June 10th - 9 am to Noon

Mark your calendar to party for Joy on June 10th!  Whether you're new to the neighborhood or a long-time resident, this is a great opportunity to get connected with your neighbors and make our corner of the community an even more beautiful place to live.  The pathway and garden links Bethel to Tullis streets along the Joy Avenue right-of-way located in the 1600 block of Bethel Street about 1.5 blocks north of the San Francisco bakery.  

Cardboard, cardboard, and more cardboard - We can use as much flattened cardboard as we can get before the work party.  Just leave your boxes on the pile we've already started at the Bethel end of the trail under the trees. Thank you for any cardboard you can donate!

We plan to clean up debris, do some weed and blackberry busting, and lay down another thick layer of chips along the corridor to help retain moisture and keep future weeds at bay.  Wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, and please bring a pitchfork or shovel, work gloves, and a wheelbarrow (if you can) to the work party.  If you don't have tools or work gloves, we'll have some available for you to use.  Bakery treats will be provided!
