Hi everyone,
Spring is here and it's time to rejoice and get out in the garden!
A few updates on the Joy Avenue pathway:
I spoke to Shawn White over the weekend. Shawn owns White's Tree Care and lives across the street from the pathway. He's the one who has donated most of the chips we've used along the pathway. He told me he's been witnessing some troubling behavior by people hiding in the cedar trees at the Bethel entrance to the Park This includes drug use and using the area as a bathroom. I gave him the go ahead to trim back some of the tree boughs to make it harder for folks to hide. He knows Lois very well and looks out for her. He told me he will make sure that her privacy will be still be protected.
We'll be having our first Joy Avenue work party of 2014 sometime within the next 3 to 6 weeks. We have some new plants to put in the ground and of course, there is always more weeding and mulching to do. I hope to have a firm date set soon.
Best regards,
Peter
