After installing Office in the Microsoft Store, the icons of Office files are displayed as white icons. You may also see this error when right-clicking the Windows desktop, clicking New and choosing one of the Office apps:
I know that there are countless questions about how to install office and what not. But the issue I have is now that I have installed it onto my system (and it never worked, just fyi) I am now stuck with these office icons in the unity browser. Has anyone come across this issue and how can I fix this? I imagine there are some images stored somewhere and I just have to remove them because when I select the program nothing runs.
I was able to remove these pesky icons by deleting the /.local/share/applications/wine/Programs/Microsoft Office 2013 folder. I uninstalled Wine, PlayOnLinux, but this folder was snuggly hidden, not under .wine or .playonlinux. Found it thanks to this discussion.
As to getting rid of the files there in the search window, you can drag an icon off the search window onto the Desktop. There its name will become something.desktop, and if you open gedit then you can drag the .desktop file into gedit.
How do I pin the MS Office to the dock (taskbar)?
I installed it as a Google Chrome browser app.
The icon shows in desktop but no option to pin.
Also when I open it, it shows correct icon on workspace but on dock it shows as second Google Chrome window.
Just tried it out on Manjaro and the behavior is the nearly same, with the only difference that the PWA icon remains the "base" for the stack of instances of the browser. For example if you first launch the PWA and then a new browser window, it'll still show as the PWA:
In my case it's the opposite about icons place, I'd like to add them to desktop but the option misses, that's where I want my games to be for fast access. By the way, at least to show only 1 icon per software this should be like on Core, so right-click the taskbar > Taskbar Settings > Behavior > Disable Do not group applications, sorry for possible difference in names or steps.
Dropbox is rather slow when it comes to updating the documentation, specifically when a visual element has changed but the functionality is the same. The icon you're looking for looks like this now...
I'm having an issue, after updating Microsoft Office through patch management, the office icons previously saved to the dock were removed. It would be ideal if the dock icons could be replaced after office is updated. Has anyone come across this and have a solution?
I guess I worded it wrong. When I push MS office it deletes the saved icons from the dock, and the users will have to add them back. I would like them to remain on the dock if they were previously saved.
The removal of Office icons from the dock after an update can be due to the fact that the icons are stored in a different location and are not automatically restored after an update. Here are some steps to restore the Office icons to the dock:
I have the same problem on my Macs.
My dock is made by a profile.
in 'Files and Processes' I add the command 'killall Dock' and the dock is displayed correctly at the end of the office installation.

Offices are busiest Mondays, the morning after a Federal holiday, and the first week of the month. If you come to an office, we may not be able to serve you that day. We may schedule an appointment or phone call for a different day.
If you do come to an office, masks are only required when the COVID-19 hospital admission level where the office is located is high. Signage will tell you if masks are required. We will provide a mask if you do not have one. Consider physically distancing and avoiding crowding if COVID-19 hospital admission levels are medium or high.
I agree with the above post... most of the icons are of terrible quality. I got lucky... the one I was looking for was good in the 16x16 version, which is what I happened to need... but the 32x32 versions of it were bad. Just got lucky.
Loving the icon gallery, but I can't find the old "Paste Values" icon from Excel 2003 (or anything that looks like it could represent "Paste Values". Any idea why they removed that icon from the QAT button for the "Paste Values" command?

How about a potted plant for your office? Draw three rectangles and arrange them as you see below. Using Live Corners, pull the top edge of the top two rectangle inward to round them out. Repeat with the bottom edge of the bottom rectangle. Add two horizontal rectangles to the top and bottom edge of the pot to complete your cactus group.
