Hi,
Journeys with Meaning

the
crazy
city traffic.

L

wander in the gorgeous forests of Uttarakhand
, w
ake up to the sight of the mighty Himalayas and experience the forest- based lifestyle of the Kumaoni people.
Following are the trip details;
Trip dates: Oct 17th - Oct 24th
(please see attached brochure for the detailed itinerary
)
Trip price: Rs.
26
,
6
00/-
Please also see reviews of our trips by some of our participants here.
The trip begins & ends in Kathgodam.
The group will meet on Saturday, Oct 17th in Kathgodam by 07:30
.
A
fter
an early
breakfast
,
we will leave for the village of Dogaon
for our first destination- an organic farm
.
For your return on Saturday, Oct 24th, please plan your buses/trains from Kathgodam in the late evening (after 20:00)as we will arrive there from
Chaukori
by 18:00. Also, do plan your flights/trains the next day in a way that you have ample time to reach the Delhi airport or railway station. The airport is an hour away from the city centre. The railway station is in the city centre.
CONFIRMING YOUR PARTICIPATION
Please confirm your participation at the earliest. Flight tickets tend to cost more closer to the travel dates, especially in the holidays.
The last date for confirming your participation, by sending in your advance payment, is October 10.
EARTH-FRIENDLY TRAVEL
Since flying may be unavoidable for many because of the distance & time involved, we'll try and do a tree-planting session in Uttarakhand, which can help offset your carbon emissions. Alternatively, you could make a contribution to
in conserving endangered species of local plants
! You could also buy some saplings of local species and plant them yourself. We will also try doing a carbon audit of all the road travel that will happen on the trip, which you can choose to offset similarly.
However, if you have the time, we always recommend train travel over flying as it helps keep our carbon footprint low.
GROUP SIZE
We're limiting the group size to 14 people (12 participants + 2 trip facilitators for this journey). People are already starting to confirm, so please let us know about your participation at the earliest.
Looking forward to your joining us... :) the JwM team
