But not THIS Sunday.

After a lot of consideration, discussion, negotiation, finaglement,
goat-roping, shenanigans, obstreperous exchanges of niggardly
pusillanimities, and a rousing water-balloon skirmish, a decision has
been reached.

Not THIS Sunday.

Did we say THIS Sunday? Communication SNAFU. Clearly the fault of
the Internet. Be mad at Al Gore, not us.

We figured it was unreasonable to tell people to show up here on what
amounted to less than 48 hours of notice. Some individuals may or may
not have felt slighted by this snap decision, and in an effort to
assuage the aggrievement of all possible parties, we've landed on the
much more friendly time of NEXT Sunday.

You can blame me, entirely. I'm a bit ridiculous. I am to
organization what an aardvark is to the Ant Rights movement.

Please return to your regularly scheduled Sunday hi-jinks. Thank you.

Erm... If this is just to meet potential D&D players you're welcome
to join Matt, myself, (possibly John & James) at Atlanta Bread Company
at Alameda and Wadsworth! We'll be there from 10:45am to roughly 7pm
on Sunday (Nov. 30th).

Aaanyway, It does seem like the one thing and the other thing conflict
a little bit. or maybe fit together perfectly. I'm not sure.

Well it looks like I got a Green Light from Houston.. so I am ready to
come Sunday. I no longer run Nets on the Weekends.
BUT I need a solid location. If we are meeting at the Atlanta Bread
Co. Then I have a good idea of where it is, in the same mall as the
AMC 24 and D&B.
If not then I need an address, before the meet please, to run Google
Maps and plan my route. Also a good idea of what to bring would be
nice.
AKA... are we going to be working on characters? Are drinks/snacks
needed? If So what kind? (I personally drink either Green Tea or
Coffee.)
Getting there is not an issue, I got a good working Jeep under me.
Also if I need a whip to keep wild beasties away... just say so.
Sooo PLEAASSSEEEEEE let me know where.. and I will be there.

Bring some Silk Soy Chai. It's part of an important D&D-related
ritual. Trust me.

Google Maps lies. LIES, I say!

(Okay, actually it's freakishly accurate. You can zoom into street
view and count the dings in our front door . . . FROM SPACE!)

More details to come!

This is possible. I'm tentatively thinking that one of my groups
might be playing here, that day. If so, then I doubt I'll be making
an appearance at the old Bread Co.

However, if that doesn't pan out, I think it would actually be ideal
to try to get as many folks from this little pseudo-pool of potential
gamers together there, at a neutral spot, to meet up, discuss gaming
arrangements and scheduling, and perhaps do some character creationish
stuff.

I need to confer with the people who ensure that I can't have nice
things, I mean, my friends. (That's YOU, Wodin.)

Lunchtime doubly so.

ABC isn't near a AMC24 nor D&B.

Here's a link on google. If you're taking the bus there is a major
RTD hub right near where the note about the Lakewood Cultural Center
is closest to S. Allison Pkwy ... plus there are several stops near
shopping center.

I'm hoping to get to meet you Josiah. Here's the note I sent the
bunch of people that come to play board games:

We're getting together this Sunday despite it being a major holiday
weekend (there's some that are staying in state!) Bring your favorite
game to share and play with friends and new acquaintances! We may be
having a number of people that are trying to start some D&D games.
Matt's planning on bringing Tomb. Don't know if anyone is bringing
Dominion. I'll have Treasures and Traps as well as other fun games.
Chad may be there with Munchkin.

Well, my first D&D group (Team Wicketude!) is going to be playing this
Sunday, here at Tim's condo. But it looks like your Boardgame Meetup
is going to be lasting quite a few hours, so I very well might be able
to come for a bit, depending on the exact time we schedule the game
here.

I need to get our block of time nailed down for certain. I'm sort of
hoping we'll do something like 2pm until 8pm-with-the-option-to-go-a-
little-bit-over-if-necessary. If we do that, then maybe I'll be able
to swing by the Bread Co for a couple of hours BEFORE we play down
here. If some of the folks from my second group (Team Eliterrama!)
can make it, too, so we can all meet and discuss some stuff, that
would be awesome.

In fact, part of that six hours blocked off for the game is the "pre-
game eating and chatting" time, which would be likely to happen at
least sometimes at a restaurant, anyway.

SO . . . maybe we can just do that at the Atlanta Bread Company this
Sunday, so everyone can meet, and stuff. How convenient would that
be?

Perhaps my group could plan to show up at the Bread Co at 11:00am or
11:30am or noon, or so, and then we could get some food, chat, meet
and greet the other folks, and adjourn back to Tim's condo after a
while to have our D&D game here.

That seems like it could work out really well.

Anyone in either of my groups have thoughts on this? Availability?
Desire? Clever ideas? Snarky comments?

I, for one, like it!

I'm pretty much free all Sunday, if a time can be arranged. I have an
exam Monday, so I need to spend some amount of time actually
studying! I suppose dragging along my laptop in the event a meeting
doesn't work out would be a handy solution.

Given that I just found this site, and it seems about twenty people
are ahead of me clammoring for spots, I'm not sure if I should bother
hauling along my PHB and MP. Seems like this is pretty much just a
social gathering in any event... I have the 4e Char Generator on my
laptop, and suppose I can just use that if things start moving in that
direction. Otherwise, it's always fun to meet other players! And if
there are enough of us maybe there's the possibility of another group
forming even if Josiah isn't able to make it.

The Bread Company looks about 40 mins away, but if something solid
gets worked out I'd be thrilled to make it.

I thought I saw one on the way to the AMC 24...
http://www.atlantabread.com/store_finder.php
And based off the main website.. there is one. It is about 5 miles
away but on the same street. ;) Or close enough..

So what time is the meet-up at Tim's Condo??
I am keeping an eye out for Silk Soy Chia, you may have to settle for
Silk Soy & Stash Chia Tea.
Do we need to bring books, dice and such? I will be bringing coffee
for me.

I dunno what time, exactly, yet.  I still haven't gotten the skinny from the guy who is really running the show.  I may be the Dungeon Master, but Wodin is the Master of Puppets.  Metallica even wrote a song about him, which is pretty hardcore when you think about it.

Try Vitamin Cottage.  (Now with over 30 locations to serve you!  Locally owned and operated since 1955!)

Books, dice, and such are always a good idea.  I mean, we have all of the 4th Edition books which have been released so far, and we have dice, but it would still be handy if you brought your own, too.

I will check the local Natural Grocers close by to see if it is there.
But I may not find it. Any word on time?

Okay, here's the official plan:

I've talked to Wodin et al, and we're just not going to be able to
make it to the Atlanta Bread Co Boardgame Meetup. We're going to need
to start earlier, here at our place, so we can end by 5:00pm or so at
the latest.

So, anyone planning to go to the Bread Co soiree, feel free to go
check it out, but I can more or less guarantee that I won't be there.
Sadly. Because I really would have liked to! Hopefully next time.

Everyone in my group for tomorrow is now already informed and on board
with what we're doing, except for Raven.

So this is for you, Raven:

Tomorrow morning, 10:00am, give or take a few minutes, if that's
doable for you.

The address is:

8331 S Upham Way
Apt 102
Littleton
80128

That's just a block west of the intersection of Wadsworth and
Chatfield, in those condos right there across the street from the
shopping center with the King Soopers and such. Each condo building
is individually numbered on the side with the addresses, so our
building actually says 8331 on it, and then you'll see #102 there on
the ground level.

If you get lost or need further directions, or whatever, you can call
me at (303) 478-2641.

As for the Team Eliterrama folks, I haven't heard from most of you as
to what your preferences and availability are, now that we're looking
at setting up an additional day which is not on Sundays. Friday
evenings are an option, as are Saturdays. So, let me know what works
for you, and we'll try to get that second game going as soon as
possible, too.

I do definitely want to get to a more general meetup soon, hopefully
the next one of Steve's Boardgame groups. If we haven't put together
a firm plan for the second D&D game group by then, we'll try to all
get together and coordinate it on that occasion.

It's a shame you cannot make the boardgame meetup as there is a Whole Food just across the street.  I would recommend you look the special chai tea at Vitamin Cottage, Sunflower Markets, or Whole Foods.  You might also call some shops that deal mainly with tea.
Well, I'll look forward to getting to meet you guys (and gals) at some weekend gathering.
