Excellent power zoom lens.

I have it attached to my full frame Sony NEX-VG900 when I'm in need of quick action shots while hiking or on the go. It makes the camera light, portable, and very easy to handle and operate. Crisp video shots and stills (cropped with this lens). Excellent focus and variable 11x super quiet zoom. It does drain your battery. Obviously my 70-400 G lens is superior but about four times the weight. It is an excellent addition to my entire lens collection.

A good kit lens

I purchased this lens for use with a Sony NEX VG900. It does what it is supposed to do, but I have noticed that it is a tad soft when compared to other E mount lenses. But it is featherlight given its range and internal motor. However, despite its beneficial features I find myself using other Full Frame lenses—via adapters—while the SELP-18200 remains in its shipping carton.

Very nice powered zoom lens

I just purchased one of these so I have only had it a few days. I'm not a pro so I'm going to make this short and sweet:
Pros:
Powered zoom lens! Works with new zoom lever on Nex3N cameras.
Power comes from the camera so no extra battery to deal with.
18 to 200 is an incredibly useful "do it all" range
Great for video
Multiple speeds for powered zoom...
Zoom switch on camera body also (in case your Nex does not have a zoom lever on the camera body).
Excellent picture quality
Cons:
Lens is large.. it dwarfs my Nex3N camera body. Almost impossible to hold in one hand for more than a 30 seconds
I would have preferred a little more range.. perhaps 300
Too easy to zoom past optical into digital zoom range (there may be a setting for this that I have not found yet).
I've heard it is battery hog
Zoom speed is WAY too slow when using zoom lever on the camera body. Zoom switch on lens moves much
faster.
No tripod hole
Overall, I give it 4 stars.
