Sid and all,

It was wonderful magical evening meeting all the wonderful Josephites. Connecting with Rajay, Rohit and Gaurav – three new faces of our Josephites Community from the New England area was indeed a bonus for all. Sorry, I was a little exhausted as the week had been extremely trying but I absorbed the entire talks and discussions and excited to see my friends – Badri (Detroit), Paul (Toronto), Shobhit (New York – New Jersey), Vinayak (Phiadelphia) and o’course your tireless self. You were a great host – THANK YOU.

We dearly missed Josephites friends that have attended the Reunion in Washington DC in 2010 and New York in 2011. Needless to say, you were all remembered and missed dearly by all and we hope that you will all be able to attend the next Reunion.

Badri indicated that he would be happy to host the next year Reunion in Detroit. Vinayak also expressed an interest to host it in Philadelphia. And as always, I volunteer to be the safe landing mat by hosting it in Washington DC, in case, we are unable to organize it in either Detroit or Philadelphia. I would urge all the Overseas Josephites to indicate your preference and send your Ayes and Nays so that we can get the ball rolling for next year immediately. Critical is to finalize a meeting room, dining and hotel rooms. This needs to be done at least 6 months to get a decent rate so that people do not feel the pinch of having to pay a high room rate.

Also, we briefly spoke of the North America Chapter and I had proposed that Sid Sharma be the Convenor/Co-ordinator for the next two years!! Sid understands that this is voluntary position and if for any reasons he cannot find the time to devote to building up the Josephites Community in North America, he will happily pass on the mantel to someone who will be able to. I feel his energy and passion will be fantastic to lay a strong foundation for the future.

It was also discussed – that unless we have a minimum of 25 committed Josephites who will endeavor to attend the Reunion each year, we will not go for a formal chapter. Once, we have the committed members, others (voluntary contribution) including me will fund the formation of the chapter and its sustainance.

I urge you all – who are part of the North America Josephites Community to send in your ideas and we can discuss this online either on FB or by emails and finalize this first at the earliest. Feedbacks and comments, ideas and suggestions are welcome!!! We would like to finalize this August 01. Everything is open for discussions and once everyone concurs, only then a final decision will take place.

In 2014 – we will have a 5 years celebration.. thinking of creating pins for all attendees. One another award we are mulling over is giving appreciation pins to regular attendees!! So we have the following:

1.       Vinayak Mathur, Shobhit Arora, Paul Rehill and Vinod Negi – 3/3 These four have attended all three Reunions held so far.

2.       Sid Sharma and Badri Balabhadra – 2/3 have attended 2 out of the 3 Reunions held so far.

So the race is on folks!!!

Once again, it was a wonderful magical evening in Boston. Thank you Sid for hosting this wonderful gathering. Whoever gets it next year – Detroit or Philadelphia will do an equally wonderful job.

Warm regards,

Vinod Negi

Vinod and all,

My vote will be for Detroit but I am not opposed to Philly as well. It's a nice place.

Let's go with Philadelphia
Primarily because it's a little more centrally located so we can expect a better turnover

Also I am very excited to have young blood like Vinayak host this event (though I have no doubts Badri will an amazing host) ... we've had the 80s & 90s organize and now let's hand  the baton to the 2000s

My person wish would be Detroit since I am yet to explore the upper Michigan area but from a broader perspective - central location and easy commute I recommend the Streets of Philadelphia

Great work Sid! Of course Philadelphia would be ideal. Open to both Detroit and Philly. But do think Philadelphia is a good choice and so is the fact that young blood is needed to pump up the SJA energy. More and more.

Look forward to catching up with everyone after I return in August.

Take care,
Meena
