if you want to use the pam_unix.so module to autenticate users you need to let the web server user to read the /etc/shadow file if that does not scare you (on Debian like systems you can add the www-data user to the shadow group).

Unfortunately the script still creates (hardcodes) the permission of /etc/shadow to 0600
so despite adding nginx to the shadow group, it cannot access /etc/shadow, so the problem and workaround in the OP remains in 20.09

The problem is that there is no Rhino SDK function to disable shadow map when drawing meshes, so I contacted McNeel asking for a new SDK function. They will probably add those methods, so I guess in 1 or 2 months there will be VisualARQ version with this issue fixed.

A) This might be expected because of some technical reasons (but of course undesirable). When many objects are being actively cut by the same Level Cut Plane, they alter shadows of other objects)

C) This one proves wrong point A.
Two walls are being cut by the same Level Section Plane but only one wall shadow is affected by toggling Level Cut Plane and one shadow is staying as expected (unaffected by toggling LCP)

VisualARQ 2.12 is now available for download. This new service release includes some new features and fixes most of the issues reported by users: Support for Worksessions (video)Support for Grasshopper Player (video)Override section attributes...

A Shadow Admin is a user who is not a member of AD administrative groups like Domain Admins, Enterprise Admins, Schema Admins, Administrators, etc. Yet this user will have rights to some sort of administrative capabilities on an admin account, that enable this user to gain further administrative capabilities.

As explained previously, to detect shadow admins you need to analyze the ACL permission of each account in AD, to understand if the account has privileges over any administrative groups or individual admin accounts. This, in itself, is a very difficult, if not impossible, task for any human being.

This comprehensive list should then be reviewed by AD administrators to determine if the privileges or these shadow admin accounts and groups are legitimate or not, and if they should be restricted or supervised.

In addition, Silverfort continuously monitors and analyzes all the access requests across the domain. It considers shadow admins as high-risk accounts. Silverfort automatically identifies, in real-time, sensitive activities, like an attempt to reset a user password, and either alert on it, or require the user the validate his/her identity with multi-factor authentication (MFA) before allowing the password reset. This can prevent unauthorized changes to user accounts as well as any unauthorized access to sensitive assets in the network.

When compositing with the filmic view transform, the imported background photograph is affected by the filmic tone mapping. This may be undesirable. The color shift of the background photograph can be avoided by using the standard view transform instead. But we then loose the better dynamic range of filmic on the 3D render. Is there a way to composite the shadow catcher pass using the filmic view transform for the 3D elements, without the filmic view transform shifting the colors of the imported background photograph?

Multiple users have stated the need for transparency with the shadow catcher for their product design workflow or compositing in other software. I have pointed out that it can still be done in 3.0, without the shadow catcher pass, although it uses an approximation.

Once again, which aspect are you asking about with regard to the environment sphere?
Are you asking for the option to render an environment sphere and place the shadows from a shadow catcher onto it?
