Dear supporter,

Derek GoresRenowned Artist, Derek Gores, is in the process of creating an interactive display of Unity as part of the October 2nd Day of Action in Los Angeles. One Nation Working Together also set-up local volunteers with the opportunity to assist Gores with the display prior to it being unveiled at the Los Angeles event.

Still want to be a part of this project?
Gores is asking those participating in Demand Change Day on October 2 to bring with them articles, notices and any other indicators of the economy so that they may be incorporated into the piece.

Learn more about this project and other events on 10.2.2010 at http://onenationca.org

In addition to Gores' interactive artwork, the daylong Los Angeles event on October 2 will feature live performances, the personal stories of struggle shared by One Nation participants, and a massive voter outreach. There will also be a live simulcast with the national march occurring in Washington DC that day at which half a million people are expected to gather at the Lincoln Memorial. Through the event and ongoing activities, One Nation California has a goal of encouraging 500,000 Californians to reengage in the political process this season.

"And as with so many movements, it was also something more: It was at this defining moment that these folks who had been marginalized rose up to challenge not just how the world saw them, but also how they saw themselves. As we've seen so many times in history, once that spirit takes hold there is little that can stand in its way. And the riots at Stonewall gave way to protests, and protests gave way to a movement, and the movement gave way to a transformation that continues to this day. It continues when a partner fights for her right to sit at the hospital bedside of a woman she loves. It continues when a teenager is called a name for being different and says, "So what if I am?" It continues in your work and in your activism, in your fight to freely live your lives to the fullest."
~President Barack H. Obama
