The IRS has announced a major shift in how it treats certain same-sex
couples who are married or are registered domestic partners in California.
For the first time, the IRS will now recognize the community property and
income rights of these couples. This IRS has announced that this change is
mandatory for tax returns filed this year, which means changes in how
same-sex couples will fill out their federal income tax returns. Come
