App suddenly stopped sending email on leave requests

Hi

We have been running Jorani  v0.4.1 for a few weeks now without any issue

Today it has stopped sending emails when a new leave request is created - password reset emails are fine

I increased the log_threshold to 4 and the app log is not showing any email activity on new leave requests

If I do a password reset I get this

But when i create a new leave request there is no call to the email_helper

The /var partition had run out of disk space and I thought this was the issue but this has been resolved and the httpd container restarted

You should upgrade to 0.4.3 and use testmail.php at the root of this version. It contains an extended log and provides additional hints. I can tell you that most of problems (in fact all problems) are coming from other parties...

Troubleshooting

In case of error, here are some additional steps:

  • Check the configuration with your IT Admin team.
  • If you are using GMAIL, please read this article.
  • The STMP port may be blocked by your organization/server's security policy.
  • Some antivirus block STMP port.
  • Some SMTP server require the application server (eg Jorani) to be whitelisted.
  • Your webhosting company may forbid email functions.
  • Maybe that the emails are sent but put into SPAM folder.

Its almost like the create leave code is no longer calling the email code

Double check the email address and that this email address is the address of the line manager (ie there is a relation between an employee and another one- the line manager)

upgraded to 4.3 and still the same 

password reset emails work

testmail.php works, both from command line and through the browser

leave request emails are not getting generated/sent

checked email addresses - all look fine

about 60 users affected and email was working fine last week
