Article's Intro Image not showing

Dear Folks,

I'm in the process of launching a new site using Joomla 3.1.1 and am having trouble showing the Intro Images of the articles. This is leading to an issue using RSJoomla's new template that inserts a stand-in image on the site. However, even when I use another template (such as those that come standard with Joomla) the Intro image does not show. 

Any ideas on what settings to look at? Or how to debug the path to find whatever is preventing this from showing up?

Any suggestion is helpful.

You might check to see if the template, that doesn't show the intro image, has an override the template's /html directory. I recall that the intro image feature was introduced during LTS and templates that had previously created an override had issues with this.
