Hi All,

Does anyone know where to find the Isis template or how to reinstall it? I think it is corrupt.

Not only is the editor missing from custom modules (tried removing and reinstalling JCE), I also cannot create or save new users. If I switch to Hathor all is well. The problems only occur with Isis.

Could you download a fresh copy of the Joomla version you're using (from joomla.org) and unzip it locally? Then you could use FTP to upload the files in the administrator/templates/isis folder to the site, overwriting the files that are there already. I don't know if this would do the trick, but it's worth a try.

I do believe that is the best way to do this. There is no installable package for Isis that I am aware of.

Thanks, Anne and Matt. I followed your advice and used FTP to overwrite the isis folder with a freshly downloaded version but it didn’t do the trick.

What could be different about the two templates that one would work and the other not? I read somewhere that Isis uses Bootstrap and Hathor doesn’t -- but I’m not sure how that might apply.

Would you consider overwriting all the Joomla files with the clean version via FTP? Again, not sure if that would help, but it might be worth trying just in case there's a different file that's corrupted.

It’s worth a try. I can’t do any more on this today but I’ll keep you posted.

Only a thought, but are you sure you’re using the most up-to-date version of JCE, 2.4.2?

And has anyone at the JCE Support Forum http://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/support/forum encountered similar issues? The developer, Ryan Demmer, is pretty awesome about fixing bugs, so at least let him know about your experience.

Has am impacted user set her/his preference for “No Editor” and the global settings are for “JCE”, or perhaps the other way around? Does an older version of JCE “ghost” appear in the editor selection dropdown?

I played a 3.3 site we’re working on which has JCE 2.4.2 and I couldn’t reproduce your issue, so I have to say I’m stumped, too. Good luck.

Best,

Sully
