Greetings. I am on the hunt for potential school-and-Joomla-friendly
hosts
for a potentially long-term relationship. If any of you knowledgable
folks
have a suggestion, I would love to hear it.

Thanks,

==Mike Wakefield

Mike - Depending on your specific needs, we might be interested in
working with you. Send me an email off-list ( graham AT simplweb.com
)and we can see if it might work.

I work with Barrie North at Simplweb.com. We provide hosted Joomla
solutions.

Graham

I wrote to Barrie North via the Simplweb forum (can't find it now)
suggesting they offer a set of templates geared to schools. His reply was
that he had been in touch with some people in education and that there were
some specific tools that would be needed that were not available now. I'm
sure over time it will be an option.

Joomlashack has a nice free education template that comes fully loaded with
content and it has a 30 page manual.

mid=43&limit=1&limitstart=1

I think it would be a huge market, I know my school district could use it!

Actually, we are using a 1.5 template that is based loosely on the older
Joomlashack one (that one is 1.0 so far), that some folks in the UK put
together, see here: http://projects.edugeek.net/joomla.html

I have done a few tweaks of my own, added some modules here and there, and
it has great potential. My main goal is to get this particular job off my
desk and onto the desks of those who will be managing the content...;)

It's true that there are some things missing in terms of user management and
other minor issues, but it's good enough to go with and certainly better
than what we've got.

Cheers,

==Mike

Hi Mike,

I provide web hosting services. My fees are reasonable and my service
is second to none. I can host Joomla sites. Let me know a little more
about your needs and let's see if I can be of assistance.

All the best,
