The current PHP version installed by default on Joomlatools Vagrant is 7.1.18-1+ubuntu14.04.1+deb.sury.org+1.

Is this going to be updated soon? According to a new message in a Joomla install in a Vagrant Box:

our PHP version, 7.1.18-1+ubuntu14.04.1+deb.sury.org+1, is only receiving security fixes from the PHP project at this time. This means your PHP version will soon no longer be supported. We recommend planning to upgrade to a newer PHP version before it reaches end of support on 2019-12-01. Joomla will be faster and more secure if you upgrade to a newer PHP version. Please contact your host for upgrade instructions.

Hi Steve,

We are preparing the next release of the box and it will have PHP 7.3 installed by default. It will also fix the dependencies for building PHP yourself again, so old and new PHP versions are available again.

Best regards,
Steven

Does this mean that command "box php:use <version>" is not working at the moment?

Hi Eugen,

That is correct - unless you had the dependencies already installed previously, there is no straightforward method to make it work right now.

Regards,
Steven
