Hello all,

A little update from the coding trenches. We just released our Joomla Console 1.4 with heaps of new features and no less then 10 new commands. You can find the complete announcement on our blog : http://developer.joomlatools.com/blog/2015/10/new-joomla-console-released.html

One great new command is the site:deploy command which allows you to deploy a site in the box over FTP. Docs can be found here : http://developer.joomlatools.com/tools/console/commands/site.html#sitedeploy

For advanced deployment scenario's also check our Capistrano deployment plugin : https://github.com/joomlatools/joomla-console-capistrano

We also created new documentation to list all the commands. You can find the docs on our developer site. See : http://developer.joomlatools.com/tools/console/commands.html

Happy coding!

Johan

Hi,

in http://developer.joomlatools.com/tools/console/commands/site.html#sitecreate still the -joomla parameter is documented which is --release now as Steven pointed out earlier.

Something is going wrong however now. Yesterday I was able to install a 3.5-beta1 site with the site:create command. Today this is no longer possible, getting the following errors:

gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

  [RuntimeException]
Can not find SQL dump file /var/www/nov35beta1-4/installation/sql/mysql/joomla.sql

Something with changed locations; I think Steven mentioned that too. I can install a regular 3.4.5 though.

Regards,

Stefan Libbe

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for testing the new release. I'm not able to reproduce the issues you describe, however:

1. The --joomla argument is nowhere to be found on the documentation page when I look at it. I guess your browser still has an older, cached copy? Try a hard refresh to make sure.

2. Maybe a previous download failed because of network issues for example. I have no clue why you would get gzip errors otherwise. Which command did you try to install the 3.5.0 beta? It works on my end with this line: joomla site:create joomlabeta350 --release=3.5.0-beta
The Console will keep a copy of all versions it downloaded. If that copy is corrupted due to network errors, it will still be in the cache. You can force a fresh download by adding the --clear-cache flag to your site:create command.

Hope that helps?

Cheers,
Steven

Hi,

1. I the options --release is described on http://developer.joomlatools.com/tools/console/commands/site.html#sitecreate, in the example in the middle of the page it says "You can choose the Joomla version or the sample data to be installed. A more elaborate example:

joomla site:create testsite –joomla=2.5 –sample-data=blog" . That's what I was looking at.

2. Getting the gzip errors when omitting .0 , so --release=3.5-beta. Sorry about that.

Regards,

Stefan

Hi Stefan,

1. You're absolutely right, I seem to have missed that reference. There were a couple more like that scattered around the docs too. I've replaced them all now and it should be correct on all pages.
2. Glad to hear you got it working again.

Thanks again for your help!

Cheers,
Steven
