A few months ago we ported a client site from Joomla 1.5 to 2.5. On screen everything looks fine, but when you print the site, everything goes haywire. The site looks like the 1.5 site which did not have these printing issues. Can anyone share some insight on this printing issue?

Here is a sample page. When you print it looks nothing like the on screen page: http://www.wuattorneys.com/index.php/attorneys/gary-a-maximiuk

Thanks in advance for any clues.

Mitchell,

When you say "printing issue" I don't understand. I did look at site but I do not see the issue?

Do you mean when you "print" the page on a normal printer using the "file print" option in a browser?

Yes Gary, when printing from the browser's print function, the page reformists. The HTML for links appears overprinted on the text (with links) in the footer. Photos shrink in size, text re wraps.

I did find that you can create separate printing templates with their own CSS files,  these will need to be reenter end whenever a template is updated. There is a work around for that involving a plugin. I have never had this happen on any other Joomla site. Typically, what I see on screen, is what prints.

I wish I could give you more advise,  I have never done that task.  Typically when clients request this - we render the page in PDF as programming action.
