image upload problems

Happy new year all.

I'm having a problem with the back end of a site. The image upload feature fails to work in both the media manager and in an article. Specifically, the browse button doesn't work. I have played with permissions to the point of resetting them to 775 to give both the owner and group access, but nothing seems to work.

Does anyone have a clue as to what might be causing this.

Are you able to parse your PHP errors?

You might think to stripe Joomla! core over your directory again.

Thanks for the reply.

As I posted yesterday, I found that turning off the flash upload function fixed the problem.
