Second part of this:
Please respond also with all Canned Responses from each WG. These are
all workgroup-specific, so each team needs their own.

Hey Matt,

I don't do T&L anymore but for T&L I can suggest a response that
includes checking with all the major guidelines, such as superscript
TM or R beside the first mention of the page, and making sure that any
logo requests have been requested - if not using the badges that are
offered that have registration for commercial use, but not approval
needed. The disclaimer should only be added to any website upon
approval, and that language should be included in the approval email.
Having that reminder would give everyone that has applied notice of
what is going to be checked on their site regarding T&L, to help them
be prepared.

Sorry to hijack but an added question - There was a team working on
new badges. Has anything come out of that? More diversity in ready
made badges would really lessen the load on conditional logo usage
approvals.

Thanks for piping in there Jennifer - the T&L issues the CWGs face
daily could very possibly be easily addressed here....

Adopting a standardized "T&L" canned response for the teams could be
the best route to go on this. I'll get with Marko to find out exact
wording, etc - haven't checked to see if he has access on this list or
not.

As to the ready-made badges, I believe there may be some more
discussion on that, but to be honest I've not kept up with it much.
Maybe a thread should be started to propose some other ready-made's
that can move that forward. There also may be a bit of confusion as
to the difference between these ready-made badges and "contributor
badges" which has also been on the discussion table. Wanna start a
new topic for it? :-)

It is about to be 10 days now with no response here of canned
responses.

Can each team post those here no later than Sep 1 please so this can
move forward.

I have heard from a few that the concept of "Canned Responses" seems
to be foreign, so let me try to explain myself better :-)

If a team member creates a ticket for a user those tickets would have
a "standard" message for different scenarios - let's say for example a
newly submitting listing in the JRD is not in compliance with the TM
requirements. A ticket would be started by the team member reviewing
the listing notifying the listing owner of this.

The canned response that is selected to insert into the ticket may be:

-------TM RULES NOT FOLLOWED---------- (the title of the canned
response)
Your submission to the Joomla! Resources Directory is currently
pending.
Your site is not in compliance with the Trademark Guidelines for using
the Joomla name and/or logo.
Please review the submission checklist found here:
http://resources.joomla.org/approval-checklist.html
You have 14 days to correct this issue otherwise your pending listing
will be removed and you will need to resubmit your listing again for a
new review.

Please remember to login to your account at http://xxx.joomla.org to
respond to this ticket, or reply to this email. Make sure to *NOT*
change the email subject as it contains the ticket number assigned to
this issue.

I thought these were automated messages used to reply to incoming
email?

This part of your original message seems like it is a contact form
folks fill out when hitting the contact button.
If you had a form available for the above questions, what
fields would the team want available? (i.e., what extra questions
need asked that are specific to your team)
A canned response is not an automated message (i.e., an
autoresponder).

A canned response is a reply or a message that is placed into your
response to keep the team member from having to type the same thing 20
times a day.

As to the form - when someone goes to the ticket site (or possibly
directly on the family of sites) they can submit a ticket. Each
working group can have it's own fields specific to their site.

please provide all relevant details. If this message is in regards to
a review, please use the “Reply” feature to rebut the issues raised by
the reviewer.
3. My extension received a review that violates the TOS, how
do i remove it?
Answer: The JED does not manipulate the votes and reviews

fraudulently. In most cases, your only recourse is to use the “Reply”
feature to rebut the issues raised by the reviewer. If you still feel
that the review violates the TOS, please provide all relevant details.
4. I do not recognize the reviewer of my extension as a
customer, can i please get their contact information?
Answer: For privacy reason, we cannot distribute the

your GPL-licensed application. However, developers may not place
additional restrictions on the use or distribution of their
applications either in the extensions itself or in the supporting
documents on the extension web site. New extensions submitted to the
JED will be examined for compliance to these guidelines in accordance
with the Terms of Service that can be found at the following URL:
http://extensions.joomla.org/tos
10. Move my listing to another category.
Answer: Extensions on the JED will be listed in only one
category. Assignment to a category is at the discretion of the Joomla!
Extensions Directory team. If you would like to change the category of
your extension, please justify why the current category is less
appropriate than the requested category.
11. Create an extension-specific category for my listing.
Answer: Extensions-specific categories are created when
five or more extension-specific (child) extensions have been published
for one particular (parent) extension. The developer(s) of the child
extensions must be different and independent from the developer of the
parent extension.
12. Why was a vote/review removed from my listing?
Answer: During our regular maintenance of the JED,
published reviews and votes may be identified as either (i) a
violation of the TOS or (ii) resulting from fradulent/abusive
activity. Reviews and votes identified as such are removed without
notice.

8. Template 8 - Voting abuse

o
o Hello,
o
o I am investigating abuse of the JED voting system.
o
o In our rules (scroll down to voting section)
o
o http://extensions.joomla.org/tos
o
o we state that owners may not vote for their own
extensions, nor other extensions in their own category. In the rules,
it also clearly states that other developers with ties to the
extension, associates, etc may also not vote for your extension.
o
o We've unpublished your extensions pending your response.
o
o You have no fewer than three clone accounts voting and
commenting up your own extensions. This is clearly an attempt to
affect the ratings of your own extensions, and is patently
unacceptable.
o
o While we are certain of the infractions we would still
welcome any response or explanation from you. We will issue our ruling
as to the extent of your suspension shortly thereafter.

10. Template 10 - Clone Voting

o
o Hello,
o
o During the course of our regular maintenance of the Joomla
Extensions Directory, we have detected voting irregularities for all
of your extensions:
o
o
o
o Specifically, we detected numerous accounts attached to
the IP addresses used by your user account . As a group,
the votes by these accounts were clearly made to increase the average
vote for your extensions and reduce the average vote for other
extensions in the categories where your extensions are published.
o
o As such, we have concluded that you have been violating
JED policy by "clone voting". All activity on the JED related to these
accounts has been removed.
o
o We have a strict policy in cases where clone voting
occurs; all your extensions have been unpublished. However, we have
flexibility in the length of time your extensions will be removed.
This can range from weeks, to months to a permanent ban.
o
o To help us make this determination, please list all
accounts you have been using to clone vote for your extensions.

another extension already listed at JED.
o You are required to change your extension name as its too
similar to:
o [EXTENSION NAME] - [actual extension URL or extension ID

o
o How to solve?
o A- Please be creative:
o - Brand: think about marketing for your extension, not for
other brand!
o - Create an easy and cool name, different from any
extension (company names not included)
o - Hint: don't use a descriptive name, go for a new name
and start your own brand
o FAQ: Extensions name - http://docs.joomla.org/Extensions_name

o B- Then the distribution part:
o 1- Update your XML file tags NAME and MENU
o 2- Rename your files to reflect the new extension name
o 3- Repack and re-attach the file to your actual JED entry
o 4- Revise the mentions to the extension at your website
o
o Send us an email when done so we could take a new look on

removed.

done so by the JED Editorial Team and the Monitoring System that
