Hi,

This is great. Finally we have something official.
I will be happy to work on one of the following projects:

1. localize.joomla.org
Initially added by me to the GSoC ideas list
http://docs.joomla.org/Summer_of_Code_2010_Project_Ideas#Joomla_Translations

Here is my last years proposal: http://edo.webmaster.am/proposals/14
Of course this year I have some new ideas, but I want to know if this
can be accepted as a JSOP project.

2. Working Copy
I have done this project last year in the frames of GSoC 2009, and
would like to continue it's development by implementing table
versioning and also I want to avoid php timeout limit by using ajax
technology. This will solve also content versioning and is more
general tool, which can be later included in phpMyAdmin project.

You can find the proposal here: http://edo.webmaster.am/proposals/11
where I specify this feature in the future enhancements area.
You can find the current version at http://jwcp.googlecode.com

Please let me know your thoughts.

Regards,

Edvard

Hi Edvard. This is great. I'm just finishing a new wiki article with a starter list of project ideas. As soon I have this, I'll post the link and then you are free to edit it and add ideas. Thanks! Mark

Has the program structure been decided? You've mentioned two types of projects (Small and Large), but has little input yet on how the actual program will function, who is running it, what the processes are, etc. I presume that is coming?

Yes. We will be figuring out the details as we go along. I think a lot of how it works will be up to the students and mentors on each project, and all projects don't have to work the same way.

As long as students are working with mentors on good projects and getting good work done, I think the details will be fine.

Thanks. Mark

Anyway I've a question about Large Team Projects.

Although there are several projects listed and proposed.
How you selected projects finally and students get assigned to them?

And also what'll be the timeline.

thanks
