Hi,
I’m working as a Google Ads specialist for a client using Joomla CMS (version 5.4.0) with the Gantry 5 template framework.
We’ve installed Google Tag Manager, but when testing in preview/debug mode, the container does not appear to load correctly.

Currently, GTM is implemented as follows:

Head Properties → Custom Content: contains the main <script> GTM code (placed in the <head> section).

Body Attributes → After <body>: contains the <noscript> GTM iframe code (placed right after the <body> tag).

Could you please confirm if this is the correct way to implement GTM in Joomla 5.4.0 with Gantry 5, or if there’s a better/recommended method (e.g. via a plugin)
If a plugin is preferred, could you recommend the best one for this version?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Josefine Leth Helge

You may be getting the code cleaned out because you have not enabled adding script tags in the editor or output. You can use a plugin as subsequently suggested, which is probably best. If you want to include the code this way, there are a number or ways to do it, but possibly not the one you’re doing. I do not use or know Gantry 5, so I can’t comment on that.
