Hello,

I am going to import users from wordpress to joomla 2.5 but they are using two different hash'.
Are there any easy solution to do this. I know it is unpossible to get the password clean from wordpress, but is it possible to let joomla support phpass as wordpress use and normal joomla authentication.

Or do you know a better solution?

Thanks in advance

Regards, Martin

Yep, you can write your own authentication-plugin. Not difficult: just copy the Joomla's usual one (.... eh, I mean; get inspired by \plugins\authentication\joomla), rename some things and encode the password in the same way as Wordpress does. Wordpress also sends the password in clear text to the server, just like Joomla does (at least it did so 2 years ago; haven't looked at it lately).

The authentication plugins work cascading: when one succeeds you can come in.

Ciao,
Herman

If you're aiming to get everything in sync then get rid of the WP DB,
I'd also update the Joomla! password as well to match the WP one after
the first login then mark somewhere that you've migrated that users
password. Then at some point in the future you can see who has and
hasn't logged in, ask them to login or just reset their password for
them. This will enable you to remove the WP password store and plugin.

Cheers,

You can also use jfusion to automatically sync wordpress users into joomla. JFusion will automatically take into account the different password hash. (www.jfusion.org)
